I just finished Chuck Tingle's Camp Damascus and I loved it. I think it'll be such a hit.

The hardest part of the book is the beginning, reading the thoughts of our main character so indoctrinated. It's repugnant. I would've put the book down but I didn't because there were appealing aspects to her: she wasn't sanctimonious about her faith, she was just... committed. She was also smart and curious, and most of all she had such objective - even kind of distant "whatever" - takes on her religiosity and her religious community surroundings that it was okay. All traits that start to unravel her piousness as the horrific mysteries mounted. I loved every minute of her journey.

I also loved how Dr. Chuck Tingle incorporated actual supernatural elements into this book, as well as cutting edge technology and research themes with matching horror motifs. This story was visually exciting in my head - I wouldn't be surprised if it were optioned for a movie immediately!

Not to mention, I'm desperately hopeful for some great Supernatural & Camp Damascus crossover fanfiction. Early seasons supernatural especially. The Dean that said "God save us from people who think they're saving us" and the Sam that's still hopeful and sweet about religion & the existence of God.

I also watched Scream 5. I love how this franchise is about family, serial killers, and fandom. I can't quite thread the needle on it any more than that right now though because I've been in an airplane for like 11 hours straight. Woohoo Sydney! <\p>
